Hi there!
I’m Yoshnee, originally from the diverse & vibrant city of Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. Growing up, I played competitive badminton until I was 17. I was also a proud Math geek during my secondary school years at SMK Assunta.
My academic journey took me to the United States, where I pursued a degree in Computer Science & Engineering at UCLA. It was there that I discovered my love for programming, a passion that has fueled a fulfilling decade-long career as a Software Engineer.
I’ve had the privilege of living in some incredible cities in the U.S. — Los Angeles for 4 years, New York for 7 years, and now I call Boston home. Each city has played a role in shaping who I am today, fostering adaptability and resilience through the varied experiences they offered.
In my free time, I explore my creativity through various outlets, delve into books and media, or simply unwind and relax. I’m always looking for new ways to grow and enjoy life’s experiences.
I’ve recently launched Malaysians on the Move as a podcast side project to share inspiring stories of Malaysians living abroad.
I speak with a diverse range of guests of Malaysian origin who have embarked on the adventure of moving away. We explore their reasons for leaving Malaysia, the challenges they’ve encountered, and the opportunities they've found in their new homes.
Through candid conversations, gain insights into their cultural adjustments, career transitions, and personal milestones.
Whether you're considering a move abroad or are curious about different life paths, you'll find inspiration in these compelling stories from around the world.
I would appreciate it if you gave my podcast a listen! Available on Spotify!
